Job Description:

 

The Role:

SiFive is looking for an experienced embedded software engineer to lead its bare metal embedded software teams and roadmap. 

In this role, you will collaborate with the Architecture teams to help design the latest SiFive hardware, collaborate with the Product teams to drive the bare metal software roadmap and lead the bare metal engineering team to realize the roadmap. This role will provide the opportunity to contribute to the bleeding-edge RISC-V hardware, software and witness first hand the realization of several new RISC-V based products.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, manage and mentor the global bare metal team in SiFive.

  • Evangelize the bare metal software roadmap with the associated best practices, build external and internal consensus and execute on the roadmap.

  • Work with the Architecture and Hardware teams to define the hardware, define the hardware/software interfaces and lead the software design and development.

  • Design and help develop end to end software execution flows, from hardware definition to software integration and tests.

Requirements:

  • At least 10 years of experience developing embedded software or device drivers in C for complex SoCs required.

  • Experience building and leading global, diverse and distributed teams.

  • Expert level understanding and direct experience with bare metal software, embedded operating systems (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, VxWorks, etc) and processor architectures (cores, caches, memories, buses, etc) required.

  • Experience developing for complex multicore, multiprocessor SoCs required.

  • Experience with debugging tools like GDB, JTAG, OpenOCD, required.

  • Experience with and exposure to the Linux stack preferred

Compensation Range:

 

$229,840-$310,960
