We Just Completed Five Energy-Filled Tech Symposiums and RISC-V Workshops Throughout the Middle East Region
Our tour through the Middle East region included Istanbul, Amman, Cairo, Abu Dhabi and Dubai. This tour was dedicated to academia, and included presentations, tutorials and hands-on workshops. Attendees primarily consisted of PhD research scholars, professors and engineering students. It was humbling to see that the region’s universities have included the book, The RISC-V Reader: An Open Architecture Atlas, authored by SiFive Technical Adviser David Peterson and Co-Founder and Chief Engineer Andrew Waterman, in their curriculum. Besides presentations and tutorials, the attendees showed keen interest in the workshop. One could see the sense of achievement among the students on their successful completion of the workshop. It opened their minds to the infinite possibilities for exploring their unique ideas and realizing them into working products. The universities also showed desire to collaborate with SiFive on RISC-V research and development. Through these symposiums and workshops, SiFive has left its footprints in the Middle East region.
We would like to express our gratitude to our co-hosts – Mentor, TÜBİTAK BİLGEM, The University of Jordan, IEEE Jordan Section, EiTESAL, The American University in Cairo, the Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Systems Institute (AIISI), Khalifa University, and BITS Pilani Dubai Campus. We’d also like to thank eFabless for their partnership.
